Phil is the main author of CIBSE Guide F - Energy Efficiency in Buildings and chaired the CIBSE/HPF CP2 Surface Water Source Heat Pumps Code of Practice. He has been consulted on heat pumps for the Canal & River Trust and is leading work to update CIBSE CP1 Heat Networks.
He has led water source feasibility studies including a 1MW heat pump on a canal and data centre in Islington, a 3MW sceme in the Olympic Park and a large heat network on Liverpool Docks and is currently working on 4th and 5th generation heat networks based on decentralised heat pumps.
