Join us in the Air Source Heat Pump Association
The HP Federation is the focal point for business interests in the heat pump industry.
The purpose of the Federation is:
- to provide benefits to members
- to share best practice and develop and disseminate industry approved technical standards, training criteria and codes of practice
- to promote the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and technical competence within the heat pump industry
- to represent the heating & cooling industry, promoting sustainable use of heat pump technology and engaging with government and other bodies to influence relevant policymaking.
HPF supports Government policy for the Electrification of Heat
The Government has published its Clean Growth Strategy which aims to promote clean growth of the economy while limiting carbon emissions. The only credible way to achieve this is through use of heat pumps instead of combustion to provide heating.
The Government has published its Clean Air Strategy which aims to reduce NO2 and particulate emissions in urban areas to reduce the risks to health from air pollution. The only credible way to achieve this is through reduction of the use of combustion for transport and heating. This means using heat pumps instead of combustion to provide heating.
HPF Code of Conduct
All members must sign up to the Code of Conduct to confirm that they will maintain the highest standards of professional conduct to safeguard the reputation of all members.
Members agree to abide by the HPF Standards published by the HPF.
Members are promoted as the best choice for heat pump services and it is hoped they will enjoy, not only a financial gain in joining, but co-operation with others involved in the implementation of solutions to global warming and resource depletion and help to raise installation standards across the heat pump sector.

Promotion and publicity for your industry
- HPF has consistently argued the case for the UK to use heat pumps as the most efficient method of controlling carbon emissions.
- HPF has consistently put the case for improved RHI conditions and rates for the heat pump sector:
- DECC confirmed dramatic increases in the rates of RHI for ground source heat pumps in December 2013
- DECC has recognised that its original intention of reducing RHI payments for the efficient use of the ground for seasonal thermal energy storage was damaging DECC's own objectives of controlling carbon emissions

The Benefits to the HPF of New Members
The HPF becomes a stronger voice for lobbying for the industry with each new member who joins. We welcome everyone aiming for high standards who serves the heat pump industry and wishes to prosper with it including consultants, suppliers, drillers, trainers as well as installers of heat pump systems.
We welcome utility companies who supply the electricity that runs heat pumps – they have an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to renewable energy by supporting the high installation standards that the HPF promotes.
We welcome local authorities who have an opportunity to demonstrate their desire to see new construction projects incorporating green energy technologies.
